Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Portage, Summit, and Trumbull Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions with slower travel likely. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow will move into the region this evening. The bulk of the snow will occur with a snow squall that will push through the region during the late evening. A brief period of snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour could accompany this squall.

The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will return to the region this evening. A snow squall will likely produce a short period of 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates during mid evening. Scattered snow showers will then continue overnight.

Summary: Snowfall of at least an inch is expected across the region, with up to 2 inches possible. There is also the potential for brief intense bursts of snow, especially between 10 PM and 3 AM. Where these brief bursts of snow occur, visibility may drop suddenly, creating additional travel hazards tonight. West winds will become northwest overnight, gusting as high as 30 to even 35 mph. This may cause blowing snow over roadways, even as the snow ends after 3 AM.

Summary: Snow and areas of blowing snow will overspread the area during the late afternoon hours today, persisting into this evening. Snowfall totals will generally range between 1 and 2 inches. Isolated snow squalls are possible as well which could result in brief whiteouts and quickly-coated roadways. Untreated roads will become snow covered and slippery. If traveling, allow for some extra time to reach your destination and be prepared for winter driving conditions.
