Summary: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall over the last 24 hours has occurred. * WHERE...The following counties, in Central Ohio, Fairfield and Hocking. * WHEN...Until 100 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain flooded or closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 656 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain has fallen over the last 24 hours. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen this afternoon on already saturated soils. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Lancaster, Logan, Nelsonville, Bremen, Pleasantville, Hide-A- Way Hills, Hocking Hills State Park, Starr, Royalton, Lithopolis, Amanda, Stoutsville, Laurelville, Carroll, Murray City, Sugar Grove, Rushville, West Rushville, Rockbridge and Enterprise.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 617 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. However, light to moderate rainfall early this evening, in combination with runoff from the previous heavy rainfall, will result in continued flooding of mainly larger creeks and some rivers in the warned area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 PM EDT, Doppler radar and area rain gauges indicated between 4 and 6 inches of rain has fallen since midnight last night which resulted in flooding of numerous structures, vehicles, and roads. Responding officials and residents should remain vigilant tonight for lingering flooding of roads and low-lying locations. - In addition, the automated gauge on Sunday Creek at Glouster was in moderate flood with a stage reading of 16.2 feet and slowly cresting. At this stage several roads in Glouster are flooded including OH Route 13 near Glouster Memorial Park, West Main Street, South Town Street, and Oakdale Road. In Trimble, portions of Center Street and OH Route 13 are flooded. In Jacksonville, Palmer Street is flooded. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... For the Hocking River...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Hocking River at Athens. * WHEN...From late tonight to Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Low sections of Harmony Road begin to flood. In Nelsonville, the baseball fields along Watkins Street flood. At 20.0 feet, Low areas, campground, and private camps along the river between Athens and Coolville begin to flood. Much of the city of Athens is protected up to 26 feet by levees. In Nelsonville, the baseball field adjacent to Lake Hope Drive floods. At 21.0 feet, South Canaan Road and Township Road 605 in the vicinity of US Route 50 flood. Glen Ebon Road begins to flood. Hockhocking Adena Bikeway near West State Street begins to flood. In Chauncey, areas along Ohio Routes 13 and 682 flood. At 21.5 feet, Four homes along 1100 block of Harmony Road flood at 21 to 22 feet. At 34.0 feet, Several areas near the river are flooded. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 313 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated and area rain gauges indicate between 3 and 5 inches of rain has fallen since midnight. Additional rainfall between 0.5 and 1 inch can be expected late this afternoon. Summary: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Morgan County in southeastern Ohio... * WHEN...Until 400 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of the Muskingum River at and near McConnelsville is expected this afternoon and evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1219 PM EDT, The gauge at McConnelsville on the Muskingum River was reading 6.1 feet and rising. The river is forecast to crest near 7.5 feet this evening. Due to the recent dam replacement, the official flood stage is no longer representative of known impacts. Flooding of areas away from the gauge can be expected at lower stages. At stages of 7.5 feet, sections of Route 669 above Malta and other roads along the river being to flood. In addition, low-lying areas adjacent to the river, including recreational boat ramps, will also experience flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/iln. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Hocking River at Enterprise. * WHEN...From this evening to late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Water spills into Kachemacher Park in Logan and onto low-lying roads near Haydenville Road at some locations along the river. Also, water will be across State Route 93 just south of Logan. Lowland flooding also occurs in Rockbridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 8.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 14.0 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
