Flood Warning issued March 5 at 5:57AM EST until March 5 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Charleston WVSummary: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Ohio, including the following counties, Athens, Morgan, Perry and Washington and northern West Virginia, including the following counties, Pleasants and Wood. * WHEN...Until 400 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 552 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated another round of heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.2 inches of rain has fallen. Duck Creek at Macksburg has reached minor flood stage at 13 feet and rising. At 13 feet, Main street near the creek floods and agricultural fields adjacent to the creek also flood. Additional rises are expected through the morning with other small streams likely flooding across the area as well. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... This includes the Shade River near Chester which is currently in minor flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1135 PM EST, Doppler radar and gauges indicated another round of heavy rain moving into the warned area. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional heavy rainfall is expected into the overnight hours. The Shade River near Chester remains in minor flood stage and slowly rising. The current stage is around 18 feet, which results in flooding impacts to low sections of Scout Camp Road and Sugar Creek Bridge.
