Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Ashtabula Inland, Ashtabula Lakeshore, Geauga, and Lake Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest lake effect snow will persist near the lakeshore through this morning. Another period of heavy lake effect snow will arrive this afternoon and overnight, impacting the entire area. Snowfall rates may reach 1 to 2 inches per hour at times this evening.

Summary: Snow and areas of blowing snow will overspread the area during the late afternoon hours today, persisting into this evening. Snowfall totals will generally range between 1 and 2 inches. Isolated snow squalls are possible as well which could result in brief whiteouts and quickly-coated roadways. Untreated roads will become snow covered and slippery. If traveling, allow for some extra time to reach your destination and be prepared for winter driving conditions.

Untreated roads will become snow covered and slippery.
