Summary: * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 feet. * WHERE...Holden Village and Stevens Pass. * WHEN...From 4 AM Tuesday to 4 PM PST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, could become slick. Travel could be very difficult. The conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow rates approaching one inch per hour will possible Tuesday afternoon and evening. Snowfall at Stehekin will range from 6 to 12 inches through Thursday afternoon.

Hydrologic Outlook issued January 4 at 11:41PM PST by NWS Seattle WA

Summary: ESFSEW A strong weather system will move across Western Washington on Tuesday with heavier precipitation expected. The forecast storm total precipitation is 2 to 3 inches for the Olympics on Tuesday. Snow levels on Tuesday will fluctuate between 3000 to 3500 feet. The Skokomish River levels also currently remain elevated due to precipitation over the last few days. For these reasons, the potential exists for flooding on the Skokomish River in Mason County as early as Tuesday afternoon, with current forecast projecting a crest between 16.5 and 17 feet Tuesday night. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.

Heavy snowfall and very low visibility will create extremely dangerous driving conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Total snow accumulations of 24-30 inches for Washington Cascades, 17-25 inches for Oregon Cascades, and 10-20 inches for the Northwest Blue Mountains will be possible.
