Summary: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinois... Kaskaskia River at Carlyle. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Kaskaskia River at Carlyle. * WHEN...Until Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 20.3 feet, Township roads downstream in Covington begin flooding near this height. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.6 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:00 AM CDT Sunday was 19.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Wednesday morning and continue falling to 14.6 feet Sunday, March 29. - Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

Summary: Strong northerly winds gusting up to 35 MPH, low humidity, mild temperatures and dried vegetation will combine to produce an Elevated Fire Danger today, especially south of Interstate 80. If a fire were to start under these conditions, there would be an increased threat of fire spread and may be difficult to control. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution while operating outdoor equipment around dry vegetation and do not carelessly discard cigarettes.
